Thermal water findings
We attach great importance to scientifically proving the effectiveness of thermal water. For this purpose, a medical-scientific group of renowned doctors who are familiar with thermal water and the pathologies that can be treated with it was set up upon Terme Merano’s opening.
The task is to research new treatment methods and therapeutic applications, to advance studies and research, and to organise conferences to exchange scientific knowledge and discoveries.
A study by Terme Merano was published in 2012 in the official journal of the Association of European Otorhinolaryngologists. The therapeutic effect of the thermal water was demonstrated in patients with chronic inflammation of the upper respiratory tract who did not respond well to antibiotic therapy.
The study on the effect of thermal inhalations on allergic rhinitis was published in 2016 in the “International Journal of Otolaryngology”, one of the most important scientific journals in the medical field of ENT illnesses.
In 2021, the last study on the antibacterial and antibiofilm effect of the thermal water of Terme Merano was published.
