In our dermatology department, we offer comprehensive initial consultations with a thorough skin examination. Using advanced diagnostic techniques such as dermatoscopy and videodermatoscopy, we detect and address skin changes at an early stage for proactive treatment.
Our dermatological services include the removal of minor skin lesions, such as seborrheic keratoses, pedunculated fibromas, and actinic keratoses, using a variety of methods, including cryotherapy. These procedures can be performed without the need for sutures, depending on individual cases.
We also provide treatments for the incision and drainage of boils and cysts, foreign body removal, and injections to reduce keloids and hypertrophic scars, aiming to relieve discomfort effectively.
In our dermatologic-surgical services, we conduct skin biopsies with aesthetic suturing and dedicated wound care.
We may reserve our elegant dress or suit for special occasions, but we wear our skin every day. That’s why it deserves special attention and care. As our largest organ, the skin is much more than just a protective layer. It shields our body from environmental factors, heat, light, injuries, and infections. It regulates our body temperature, stores water and fat, and produces vitamin D. Much like a Gore-Tex jacket, it provides protection while remaining breathable.
Until June 2023, Prof. Dr. Pierfrancesco Zampieri was the Head of Dermatology at the Merano Hospital. With over 37 years of professional experience, his specialties include clinical dermatology, dermatoscopy, photodermatology, dermatologic surgery, allergology, and wound care.
You should consult a dermatologist if you notice any changes in your skin, mucous membranes, hair, or nails. Consider making an appointment if you experience:
If you suffer from atopic dermatitis, hives, acne, psoriasis, rosacea, shingles, nail and foot fungus, warts, or herpes, a visit to our dermatology department is advisable.
