This information will never be communicated to third parties by the data controller or used to contact the users of the site unless upon their request or authorisation. Terme Merano S.p.A. hereby informs you that the personal data you provide will be processed both digitally and on hardcopies in order to meet your requirements. Processing is carried out at the company’s premises and is conducted solely by personnel responsible for data processing or maintenance activities. No data obtained from the web service will be transmitted or disseminated, except in cases expressly provided for by law.

In the case of data provided by users, the optional, explicit and voluntary submission of information to the addresses indicated on this website results in the acquisition of the sender’s address, which is required in order to respond to requests, as well as any other personal data included in the message. If data is not provided voluntarily, it may not be possible to obtain results (e.g. replying to the user's message).

Cookies: the IT procedures associated with our website involve generating cookies (small text files which are used to remember choices and/or preferences) on the user's computer.

General observations

Terme Merano has always devoted its utmost attention to the discretion, protection and security of the information in its possession, especially if it concerns the personal data of its clients and of other parties with whom it enters into contact. In accordance with this philosophy and the guidelines set down by Legislative Decree no. 196 of 30 June 2003 (Privacy Code) and the General Measure on Video Surveillance of 29 April 2004, Terme Merano tells its users what kind of data it processes and notifies them of certain key characteristics of the processing method as well as the rights of the interested party.

In order to perform its services, Terme Merano S.p.A. holds your information, including that acquired verbally, directly or indirectly through third parties, which is considered personal data under Legislative Decree no. 196 of 30 June 2003 (Privacy Code). This code requires any party processing personal data to inform the party on whom data is being collected regarding what kind of data is being processed and regarding certain key characteristics of the processing method, which has to be performed in a correct and transparent manner, safeguarding his discretion and rights. In compliance with this regulation, we hereby provide you with the following information.

Purposes of the processing:

The data involved comprises personal, sensitive and judicial data collected for the following purposes:

-       to fulfil obligations under civil and/or taxation law, regulations, decrees and EU requirements (judicial data related to compliance with regulations governing the assignment of works, supplies and services; various kinds of sensitive data relating to staff administration and payroll management);

-       to fulfil any contractual obligations entered into with the person concerned;

-       activities related to or facilitating our company’s business (especially sensitive health-related data required for thermal, medical and wellness services and that concerning staff administration);

-       to defend claims and manage liabilities;

-       for safety and security purposes (video recordings);

-       for commercial purposes, marketing, market research and the provision of business information or advertising materials (by letter, e-mail or fax).

Data will be processed throughout your stay at Terme Merano S.p.A. and also subsequently (with the exception of video recordings, which are deleted) as far as is required to meet legal obligations and/or for administrative purposes. In the absence of such data, we may not be able to provide the required products and/or services.

Processing method:

Terme Merano S.p.A. will store your data in hardcopy or electronic archives, which are protected by appropriate security measures. Terme Merano S.p.A. can guarantee that only authorised personnel with a duty to maintain confidentiality will have access to your data.

Communication and dissemination:

For the purposes described above, your personal data will be communicated where necessary to private individuals and legal entities and to public and/or private corporations in Italy and/or abroad insofar as this communication is necessary or expedient for fulfilling our relationship with you; data may be communicated for administrative and/or accounting purposes or for security purposes to the judicial police on their request (video recordings). Our company does not employ any personal data for general dissemination.

Video surveillance in particular:

As clearly stated on notices posted within the buildings of the thermal baths and in the respective car parks, Terme Merano S.p.A. (data controller for this data) has installed video surveillance systems (CCTV cameras) in these areas to ensure the safety of people and property from the company and of third parties and to protect them against acts of vandalism and/or unlawful and fraudulent behaviour. The images recorded on these systems will be processed using electronic equipment and in compliance with prevailing laws in order to ensure the security and confidentiality of the data and images recorded. In particular, the CCTV cameras are connected to servers and suitable physical media which will be used to store the images and which can only be accessed by data processors and supervisors involved in processing the data. In view of significant security requirements and requests from the judicial authorities following the occurrence of acts of vandalism and unlawful behaviour, the images are kept for a maximum of five days (thermal baths area and the car parks) except for those filmed at the weekends or during holidays or office closures. The images will be deleted automatically after this period, unless requested otherwise by the judicial police. We also hereby inform you that the content of any recordings made:

a) may be viewed exclusively by data processors, subject to authorisation from the data controller or supervisor, provided that this is necessary for the intended purposes or in connection with the completion of investigations by judicial authorities or the judicial police or for systems maintenance;

b) may be passed on exclusively to the judicial authorities or the judicial police if so requested or if unlawful events occur which require investigation. We also hereby inform you that, as stipulated by the General Measure on Video Surveillance of 29 April 2004, your consent is not required for the cases and purposes described above.

Your rights at all times:

You have the following rights with regard to all and any of your data stored by Terme Merano S.p.A. (excerpt from Art. 7 of Legislative Decree 196/2003):

- knowledge of all and any of your data processed by the company;

- information regarding the method and purpose for which your data is employed;

- information regarding addressees of your data and data access by third parties;

- requests for your data to be made complete, updated or changed;

- requests for your data to be deleted (where there is no legal requirement for storage), anonymised or blocked if it was processed unlawfully, and objections to its usage in any case where due reason is provided.

You are entitled to assert your rights at any time by contacting Terme Merano S.p.A., specifically the Data Protection Officer for data and the Video Surveillance Officer for images; you may do so by sending a registered letter to Piazza Terme 9, I-39012 Merano or by e-mailing info@thermemeran.it.

Data controller

The data is owned and managed by the legal representative of Terme Merano S.p.A., which has its registered office in Merano.

Exclusion of responsibility

Terme Merano S.p.A. cannot accept any responsibility for the processing of personal data by parties to whom it has been communicated.
